I found this group in January. As an overweight, unfit, middle aged woman, I was so apprehensive about joining a football team. My fears were allayed before I’d even met everyone by the founders. Wow! What an absolutely fabulous group of women! I have made so many wonderful friends, we play together, we socialise together and we laugh together.
Your age does not matter, your weight does not matter, your fitness level does not matter. The only thing you need is enthusiasm.
This very quickly became my favourite hour of the week and that has not changed.

I’ve recently joined this women’s football league and it’s been such a fantastic experience! Everyone is so friendly and welcoming, which makes it easy to feel comfortable whether you’re completely new to football or have played before. The atmosphere is really encouraging – with everyone supporting each other, and there’s always a positive vibe on and off the pitch.
It’s also a brilliant way to stay active and have fun at the same time.
If you’re looking for a supportive, social, and energetic way to get into (or back into) football, I can’t recommend this league enough! ⚽💪

I joined Empowerball after a long time out of sport due to injury. I was very nervous to play football again and found it hard to find a football team. I came across Empowerball and thought I'd give it a go. Everyone was so welcoming and made me feel comfortable. I've now been playing for a few months and I'm really enjoying it. I would definitely recommend

Been a member for almost a year and this league has had such a massive impact on my confidence, mental health and fitness. All of the members are welcoming caring and encouraging. If you are ever thinking of giving football a go and are nervous, this is a good place to start.

I went for my first session this week. The whole process of signing up was as easy as it could be, I was given all the information I needed. Everyone on the night was super friendly and I was made me feel very welcome. I had a great time, the football was good and such a nice atmosphere. It doesn’t matter your skill level, everyone was very encouraging. It is not just about the football it is also about making sure everyone is involved and having a great time. I wanted to find somewhere that wasn’t all about being the best player and having the pressure of being super fit and winning every match, but somewhere I could turn up, play a game and have a laugh at the same time and that was exactly what I got.

I've always loved football but as I've got older and fatter playing a good old game seemed like a passed dream. But with empowerball colchester it's given me the opportunity to get back into it! We play on smaller pitches 6 aside with all different player capabilities. So dont overthink it just come try it out. You'll love it!!

The guys have made it so easy to fit in, and I'm honestly loving playing football again. I wasn't sure it would ever happen after a long hiatus (14 years!?) so it's awesome! Just the right balance of friendly and competitive, and a great way to meet some awesome people, and boot a ball around at the same time!
